Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about reserving and raising your mini dachshund.
Adoption & Deposits
How do I reserve a puppy?
Submit a puppy application. Once your application is approved, a deposit reserves your chosen puppy and the remaining balance is due on go-home day. See our Adoption & Policies page for current deposit terms.
Is the deposit refundable?
Deposit terms are explained on our Adoption & Policies page. If you have questions about your situation, please contact us before placing a deposit.
Can I visit or meet the puppy before reserving?
Yes. We're happy to send extra photos and videos of your puppy and answer all your questions by email or live chat. In-person visits can be arranged by appointment.
Pricing & Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
Accepted payment methods are listed on our Adoption & Policies page. We never ask for gift cards or unusual payment methods.
What is included in the price?
Every puppy comes vet checked, with age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, a microchip, health records and a puppy starter kit, plus lifetime support from us.
Health & Vet Care
Do your puppies come with a health guarantee?
Yes. Every puppy comes with a written health guarantee. You can read the full terms on our Health Guarantee page.
What vaccinations will my puppy have?
Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming before going home, and you will receive a record to share with your veterinarian.
Delivery & Pickup
Do you deliver puppies?
Yes. You can choose pickup, ground delivery, or a flight nanny who hand-carries your puppy in the cabin. Options and fees are listed on our Adoption & Policies page.
At what age do puppies go home?
Puppies go home at around 8 weeks of age or older, once they are eating well and have had their veterinary check.
Mini Dachshund Care
How big do miniature dachshunds get?
Miniature dachshunds typically weigh 11 pounds or less as adults and stand about 5–6 inches tall at the shoulder. Individual size varies with genetics, diet and exercise.
How do I protect my dachshund's back?
Dachshunds are prone to back problems (IVDD). Keep your dog at a healthy weight, use ramps or steps for furniture, discourage jumping, and support their back and chest when you lift them.
Are mini dachshunds good with children and other pets?
Well-socialized mini dachshunds are affectionate family dogs. As with any small breed, young children should be supervised and taught to handle the puppy gently.
